After expanding into film making in 2004, he went to documentary film school in California and has since worked on a wide variety of projects including short documentary films, corporate DVDs, info-mercials and destination travel pieces.Peter MyersPeter Myers moved to Sierra Leone aged four, and has been an expatriate ever since. Now pushing 30, he has recently returned to London after a stint as Editor-in-Chief of Bangkok-based lifestyle + travel magazine, an ‘intelligent travel’ title, distributed throughout the Asia-Pacific by newsstand and subscription which gained international recognition by industry and readers' choice awards and accolades. He is currently Editor-at-Large of the publication.A veteran of Asia-Pacific travel publishing, Peter is now concentrating on providing editorial and creative services to a number of clients, most recently Quintessentially Publishing in London. His skills range from copywriting (including work with Ogilvy & Mather in Bangkok on print and broadcast ads for several of their FMCG clients), to feature writing and reviewing (contributing regular opinion columns to the a number of magazines, boutique hotel reviews to www.i-escape.com, travel features to lifestyle + travel and Indonesia's Garuda Airlines in-flight magazine), to editing/re-writing work (ghost-writing/editing a coffee table book named Barefoot in Paradise for resort-designer Bill Bensley, soon to be published by Periplus, The Bathroom Book for American Standard, various Thai government ministry reports and innumerable hotel press releases). Peter most prides himself on his eagle-eyed proof-reading & sub-editing skills, and enticing/quirky headlines, captions and intros. Nikki JecksNikki Jecks is an editor/ producer with experience in documentary, PSA and short film production. She has a broad background working in the media itself and as a press officer for the United Nations. Her UN experience includes agencies such as UNIFEM, UNAIDS, UNFPA, and UNESCAP. She has also worked as a journalist and producer for the BBC World Service and prior to that, with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.Joanna SmithJoanna Smith is a camerawoman/director with experience in UK-based television and short film productions in Asia. In London she worked on large budget commercial shoots for clients such as Sony, Absolut Vodka and Gordon‚Äôs Gin. After moving to Asia in 2000 she has directed/filmed a number of short films/documentaries. Her film documenting traditional weaving in Laos was submitted to the Nature Film Festival in France. Corporate work includes films for UNILEVER and Dutch traders Van Den Berg. She has also worked as camerawoman with INFOCUS ASIA. Her background is in commercial photography, where she shot for NYC and London-based publications including Gourmet and Wallpaper Magazine. She also has experience working with development agencies such as UNESCO and EU funded projects in Lao PDR. |
